When is National Bandanna Day?

National Bandanna Day is held on the last Friday of October each year. This year's event is on Friday 28 October 2022.

Are there any new bandanna designs? 

Each year we release new designs in time for Bandanna Day. 

This year we have 10 new bandanna designs!

How long can I fundraise for?

This year you must return all your funds and unsold stock by November 15th.

Fundraising Box

Can I select the designs in my box?

Our boxes arrive in our warehouse pre-packed so unfortunately, we can't arrange custom fundraising boxes. 

What is included in a merchandise box?

The box is made up of 60 x $5 standard cotton bandannas with each box valued at $300

Why are there no longer premium Bandannas included in the boxes? How can I order some?

Moving forwards, we have made the decision to have only one type of fundraising box to cover all fundraisers.This enables us to reduce up-front packing costs to the organisation, thereby ensuring that more of the funds raised can go towards the vital services we provide to our young people. Unfortunately we are not able to customise, sub-out or sub-in items.

What if I don't sell all the bandannas in my box?

If you've ordered too many bandannas, no problem! You can send the remaining stock back to us in the reply paid satchel provided.

Please ensure you fill out the 'return bandannas' slip with the number of bandannas you are returning and send this back with the unsold stock. This makes it easier for us to reoncile your order. 

How many can I order?

This year to reduce costs around producing and shipping the fundraising boxes, we are placing limits on how many boxes are ordered. Once you have registered on our website, our team will phone you to arrange the quantity and finalise your order. 

I haven't received my order yet

Boxes for the campaign won't start shipping until August 2022, if you'd like to purchase a bandanna please visit our online shop.

I've lost my paperwork and reference number

No problem, get in touch via our contact page and we'll send you a new copy. Be sure to include as much detail as possible so we can track down your order.

I purchased a bandanna using the QR code on my fundraising box but its not appearing on my fundraising page.  

This year the QR codes can link directly to your fundraising page; please ensure that whenever someone purchases a bandanna from your box they are entering in your details correctly. If the bandanna is being purchased via the 'buy a bandanna' button on your fundraising page, your details should automatically link to the purchase. You will receive an email confirmation whenever a bandanna purchase is made. The purchase will appear on your page in up to 3 hours. If you are still having issues please visit our contact page. 

Fundraising Page

I’ve forgotten my username and/or password

If you’re trying to log in but you can't remember your password, click on the 'Forgot password?' link on the log in screen. Enter your email address and we’ll send you a link to reset your password.

How do I update my fundraising page name?

If you are a school or organisation your fundraising page name wil automatically update to be what was selected or entered in this field during registration. The page name can be edited during the registration process but unfortunately once this has been submitted it cannot be changed. 

What is my dashboard?

Your fundraising dashboard is your one stop shop to access features on your fundraising page. 

On your dashboard you can do the following things: 

  • Personalise your page with your own story and photos
  • Share your page on social
  • Send out e-mails to collect donations and thank your donors
  • View your event checklist 
  • Check in to see how many donations you have received 
  • Download some awesome resources to help increase your fundraising 

How do I upload photos to my page?

You can add or change photos by clicking on the ‘Edit My Page’ tab. Follow the prompts and ensure you save your changes.

Click the ‘view’ link above your fundraising information to see your changes.

Why are my achievement badges not appearing?

If you have done an action to earn a badge and it's not activated, best to wait 15 min and refresh the page.

Can I donate my hair to Canteen?

We at Canteen can't take hair donations unfortunately, but here is some info about other organisations that do: 

I'm colouring my hair. What kind of dye should I use? 

There are lots of non-toxic hair dyes out there and we fully promote doing this challenge in a risk-free way. Also, there is certainly no expectation that everyone in Australia is in a position to dye their hair – which is why there are a number of ways to get involved in the campaign this year.

We'd love for you to dye your hair Canteen green or Canteen blue and sport our colours but this event is intended to be first and foremost a challenge so we encourage you to pick a colour that takes you outside of your comfort zone. The crazier you go, the more your friends and family will donate to support you.

Chatime X Cut, Colour Cover It Competition 

How do I enter? 

Everyone who registers to fundraise for National Bandanna Day’s Cut It, Colour It, Cover It campaign, automatically goes into the draw to win. Register to cut, colour or cover your hair here.

How many times can I enter? 

Only one registration and entry into the competition per person is allowed. Please refer to our terms and conditions for further information.

What do I win?

You will win 2-nights accommodation for 2 people to stay in a standard King Room (or equivalent) at your nearest participating Hilton Hotel, Australia, including breakfast for 2 people and hotel parking. Total value of prize $750 (max)


One year’s Supply of Chatime (one drink per week for 52 weeks). Total value of prize $520 (max)

Where is the nearest participating Hilton Hotel to me?

Participating Hilton Hotels are:

  • Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Melbourne Queen Street, Sydney, Surfers Paradise and Perth.

How many drinks is a year's supply of Chatime? 

One year’s supply of Chatime equals one drink to the value of $10, per week, for 52 weeks.  Total value of prize $520 (max).

Where do I have to go to get my year's supply of Chatime?

If you are the winner, the credit will be added to your Chatime Loyal-TEA account.

Free Chatime drink for Cut, Colour Cover participants

I didn't get an email when registering; how do I get my free Chatime?

Everyone who registers to fundraise for National Bandanna Day’s Cut It, Colour It, Cover It campaign, automatically receives an email from Canteen – please make sure to check your junk/spam box.

The email will be sent from ‘Bandanna Day Team’ and the subject line is, 'Your name, you’re in. Let’s do this!'

How do I register for Loyal-Tea?

You must register for Chatime’s Loyal- tea using the below button if you are taking part in the Cut, Colour, Cover Bandanna Day campaign.


I’ve registered and completed the Loyal-tea membership form, when will the free drink credit show on my account?

You will need to wait 14 business days from submitting the Loyal-tea form located in your registration confirmation email.

It’s been 14 days since I submitted the form, and I still don’t have the credit on my account.

The 14 days are counted from the time you submit the form, not from when you register for the National Bandanna Day campaign.

If it has been more than 14 days since you submitted the Loyal-tea form, please contact Chatime by filling out this form

Where do I find my Loyal-Tea number?

Open the Chatime Loyal-tea app and click on the 3 dots where it says ‘more’, then click on ‘my profile’ and scroll down to the bottom and you will find your membership number.

You can also find your member number under the tab ‘card’ and it will be above the barcode.
